Victor Borisov-Musatov was born in Saratov, where he lived all his youth. He studied at the Moscow School of Arts, where he was taught to perfectly master the brush and convey his mood with paints. In 1895, he, it turns out, move to Paris. There he improves his skills and opens up new facets of talent.

In Russia, they started talking about the artist in 1902, it was then that the painting "Tapestry" was born. The author chose pastel colors for his works, but he was especially attracted by the unusual tapestry technique. Musatov studied this technique in detail in France; it originated in the 17th century. The picture becomes like a fabric, due to the fact that the paint is applied to the canvas with a very thin layer. The texture appears, the fibers become visible.

The picture shows two young ladies, they are walking in the garden. The park is located in an old manor. The dark-haired beauties went for a walk on a sunny day, the street is a little hot and they are forced to take their lovely fans with them. One of the ladies straightens her magnificent dress, and the second throws an indifferent look at her. The park is well maintained, the lawns are even and the trees are cut. In the background, the estate itself flaunts, you can see the alley with a small bench.

Women's dresses are decorated with flounces and numerous pleats on the skirt. A pearl jewelry is visible on the neck, indicating the status of a young person. The hairstyle is pulled back; this gives rigor to the painted young lady.

Victor Borisovich conveyed the real atmosphere of one of the walking days of two beautiful women. He personally observed such walks daily. He liked to draw girls, painting their faces in the history of his work. Most admiring is the ability to pick up such light and natural shades. Sunlight is transmitted throughout, and the details of the outfits look modest, but at the same time rich.
