The artist Zinaida Serebryakova is largely a heroic woman. She had to experience many shocks. Her fate can be called tragic, and her talent is remarkable. She early lost her beloved husband, Boris Serebryakov, left with four children. Nevertheless, she remained true to herself, her style, and there was no case when she painted custom-made paintings. One of her remarkable works is the portrait of B.A. Serebryakova.

In the picture we see a young man, blue-eyed, fair-haired. His features are subtle. Before us is an intelligent, intelligent person. But behind all this, almost noble, refinement, truly masculine reliability and even courage are visible. The look of the character is slightly ironic and at the same time sad. Fatigue is discerned in hollow cheeks. Fatigue could be read all over the face, if not for the eyes. They are still full of light, and it remains to guess what this man is thinking about.

It seems that the artist foresaw that Boris would die early, and therefore portrayed him so alive and real that not even fully written brush strokes can diminish this impression. Only from them can we understand that the picture was painted for the home, and not for exhibitions and not for sale.

The picture feels love, warmth and spiritual light. The artist in the upper right corner left the inscription “Borochka. Not boring. November…". Apparently, the work was dedicated only to him, beloved and dear. After all, the fate of the artist was such that she periodically lived in separation from her husband, a railwayman, who left for the construction of railways in places where it was impossible to live with his family - the conditions were so severe there. It was in such works that Boris fell ill with typhus, why he died ...

And in the portrait, Boris looks like he is alive to this day. And the great love and great talent of the artist Zinaida Serebryakova did this.
